VANGUARD ACQUIRES MEDSCAN IMAGING PRACTICE IN MIDDLETOWN,

Vanguard Imaging Partners has acquired MedScan Open MRI of Middletown, a locally owned imaging practice formerly located on South Breiel Boulevard. The MedScan operation closed effective February 1, 2008, with all imaging procedures now conducted at Vanguard’s Middletown center located in the Grand Medical Plaza at 4214 Grand Avenue. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Vanguard’s Middletown location is a full service imaging center featuring southern Ohio’s first High-Field 1.0T Open MRI. This new technology combines powerful diagnostic capabilities with unprecedented patient comfort in an open design, which is particularly beneficial for larger patients or those with claustrophobia. In addition to the High-Field 1.0T Open MRI, the center also offers Multi-Slice CT, Ultrasound, and X-Ray imaging.
Vanguard President and CEO Joe Brywczynski is pleased to continue the company’s expansion. “We are identifying specific areas of the Miami Valley that could benefit from having medical imaging centers in their communities, which makes imaging services readily accessible to residents. We not only serve the patients’ and physicians’ needs, but also those of the communities in which they live and work.”
Vanguard currently operates seven outpatient imaging centers, with locations in North Dayton, Kettering, Springboro, Lebanon, Huber Heights, Beavercreek and Middletown. The company has 72 employees to date.
Vanguard continues to expand its imaging offerings at all of its centers around the Miami Valley.
The North Main center in Dayton has added a 1.5T High-Field MRI and Multi-Slice CT to its previous offerings of Open MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone Density and X-Ray.
The Huber Heights center recently added a Multi-Slice CT to its services which included High-Field MRI, Ultrasound, and X-Ray. The Kettering location added a 1.5T MRI to its Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone Density, and X-Ray equipment. A Multi-Slice CT was also added to the Open MRI at Vanguard’s Beavercreek center.
